CANsupport supports people who use the oncology clinics at the Delamere Centre and those who are receiving chemotherapy in the Cantreat Unit at Halton Hospital.

CANsupport is a registered charity run by volunteers based at the Delamere Support and Information Centre, Halton Hospital, Runcorn.

Complementary Therapies

An increasing number of individuals are embracing complementary therapies as a means of enhancing their overall physical and mental well-being. 

The Goddess Course

Tailored for individuals navigating the challenges of hair loss resulting from medical treatment, this course addresses concerns about post-treatment appearance.

Meditation Sessions

Our meditation sessions offer a serene sanctuary where you can temporarily set aside your daily worries and embrace tranquility.

Counselling

Engaging in open discussions with a qualified counselor can provide invaluable assistance to both patients and their caregivers as they navigate the challenges of diagnosis, surgery, and treatment.

Equipment and Supplies

Cansupport have used donations to support all three cancer services based at Halton Hospital. Here are just some of the ways we have helped and supported each service.

Cantreat Chemotherapy Unit

  • Purchased a new scalp cooling machine.
  • Used donations to help Cantreat purchase 15 new treatment chairs.

PIU (Programmed Investigation Unit)

  • Provided funding to enable this unit to purchase a vein finder device.
  • Paid for the reupholstering of patient chairs.
  • Purchased medical texts.

Macmillan Delamere and Information Support Centre

  • Paid for the furnishing of a third counselling room.
  • Pay for additional counselling sessions to reduce waiting times.
  • Pay for a monthly Goddess Course supporting patients who experience hair loss and are concerned about their appearance.
  • Pay for a 5 day a week complementary therapy service.
  • Paid for the clearance of an overgrown Delamere Centre garden and restocked it with new plants.
  • Cansupport volunteers maintain the garden.
