CANsupport

Helping those touched by cancer

CANsupport supports people who use the oncology clinics at the Delamere Centre and those who are receiving chemotherapy in the Cantreat Unit at Halton Hospital.

About Us

Cansupport was set up by a group of volunteers in 2011. Their aim was to raise funds for the Delamere Centre, based at Halton Hospital.  Cansupport became a registered charity in 2014. Originally it funded a range of needs, including refreshments for patients, volunteer’s travelling expenses and office stationery. It progressed to include welfare rights advice, funding a professional cancer rehab course and the cost of a specialist in wig and hair care.

Today it funds two part time complementary therapists and the hair and wig specialist, as alternative funding has been found for the other services. Money raised is now used to purchase medical equipment and other supplies.

The charity primarily supports patients and the people who care for them from Halton, Warrington and the surrounding areas of Cheshire.

Our aim is to support the delivery of cancer services at Halton Hospital and improve patient care.
